HOW WE STARTED

Hi !
We are a Turkish couple who live in Bodrum which is a famous summer resort town in Turkey.
After retiring from  hard working years me as an architect and my husband as financial manager  decided to settle in Bodrum and started to live in a  town-house type condominium built very close to beach.To start a new life in Bodrum  being a holiday paradise is awesome to most people as to us but when winter comes things change a bit.In the end of august the holiday makers start to leave the houses  one by one,the neighbourhood becomes suddenly empty.First you take a deep breath after too much noise and traffic and relax.
All the lonely beaches are yours,you can walk along empty shores,breath the sea,listen to the birds sing.But there are also times when you feel so lonely,aimless and useless coming from a productive business life.You might  feel there is nothing to challenge,no new people to meet,not a specific goal to reach.
Luckily you can meet all the artists,nature lovers,painters and all kinds of people with different hobbies  at this time of Bodrum.You enjoy long dinners, small parties with these sort of people.

This was the time when we met Fırat Bey and his English wife in a small town Ören of Bodrum and learnt that every year in winter time they have been spending their winters in Koh Jum island of Thailand.We were very much inspired and excited and with no hesitation with a little research on internet and no reservation we backpacked and started our journey opening our arms to a new life and new expectations.

From that time on we have been travelling in winter mostly in Asia where we had the chance to meet new people,new lifes and we had the chance to make our dreams come true.
Now travelling became a passion or truly an addiction to us.When winter comes and all the holiday makers leave here we  feel a kind of itching forcing us to make a new travelling plan.
Now its been 14 years  that we are travelling and thus getting older but the exicitement inside us has not stopped yet.
I just wanted to write this blog to inspire all the retired ones and also the young people who will retire some day and share the renovation of our soul and energy by travelling.It does not matter if you have less or much money because once you decide there are all kinds of places to travel with different budgetes.
Unfortunately  my blog is written only in Turkish yet;I do not want to put google translate because it makes no sense.So if you have any comments and questions to ask please contact me personally.I will be very happy to hear from you.Your opinions and comments are very valuable for me .
